All programs claim flexibility. That’s not what makes the difference.
If you’ve been exploring data science programs, you’ve likely seen the same messages: online, flexible, career-focused.
But what matters more is how the program is designed–and how well it prepares you to actually apply what you learn.
Some programs prioritize scale and flexibility. Others emphasize theory.
The right choice combines structure, real-world application, and a clear path forward.
A More Intentional Approach to Data Science
A clear path, not a self-directed guess
In data science, what you learn–and the order you learn it–matters.
Some online programs offer flexibility, but leave it up to you to piece together courses and build your own path.
This program is designed differently.
You’ll follow a structured progression that builds your skills step by step–so each course prepares you for the next, and everything connects to real-world application.
Foundations
Build core skills in statistics and programming for data science
Core Skills
Develop capabilities in data management, machine learning, and big data
Application
Apply what you’ve learned through data storytelling and real-world problem solving
Capstone Project
Complete a real-world data project you can use to demonstrate your skills
Start Smaller, Move Forward with Confidence
Not ready to commit to the master’s degree? Begin with a 5-course graduate certificate to build foundational skills and experience the program. When you’re ready, apply those credits toward the full master’s degree.
Start where you are, and build from there.
This program is a strong fit if you:
- Want to apply what you learn immediately
- Prefer structured, guided learning
- Are balancing work and education
- Want a lower-risk way to enter data science
You can begin with the Graduate Certificate (5 courses) and apply those credits toward the Master’s Degree (10 courses).
Start smaller. Continue when you’re ready.
