Ascension Wisconsin MyChart Optimization Training

The Ascension MyChart Optimization Training project was not only utilized as a Capstone project and internship experience, but also a project that pertains to my current role with Ascension. Having a close working relationship with our Transformation Specialist team allowed me the opportunity to have them to be the host site for this project. In turn, them having a strong understanding of my work experience allowed them to provide a project that was large in scale and responsibility for me to partner with their team on. My longstanding history as front desk staff and recent history of Lead Office Operations Assistant created the idea for my project to be beneficial to all front desk staff. The goal of the project was to create training materials, proposed verbiage, and additional resources on MyChart activation. The result of the project is to increase future activation rates state-wide. Currently Ascension’s MyChart activation rate is around 50%, with other similar organizations having 60% activation rates. Working with the Transformation Specialists to create these learning materials and subsequent training sessions are extremely instrumental in increasing Ascension’s MyChart activation rate.

As I neared my Capstone project, I immediately knew which department I wanted to reach out to as a host site. I was lucky enough to be accepted to do such a large project in a position and department that I was hopeful to transition to after graduation. After my Capstone experience with the Transformation Specialists, my career goals are unchanged. Completing this project and interacting with so many knowledgeable and helpful people only secured my passion for this position.
