My project is a case study on what Sabermetrics is and how data plays a role in Major League Baseball.  Sabermetrics is using data to build predictive models for assessing whether to draft a particular play, trade or retain them.  Small market teams cannot afford to compete with larger market teams for players that become free agents and can command large contracts.  Therefore, data can be used to level the playing field.  Sabermetrics was made popular in the early 21st century by the movie Moneyball.  This case study investigates how Sabermetrics works and how it can be implemented.
