This study aimed to design a rating system for the card game sheepshead, specifically for the site get61.com. The first project objective determined a hand and position weight for a hand of sheepshead. The next objective developed rating equations to honestly reflect a player’s skill level instead of hand variation. The third objective investigated the player network to determine if the rating system was appropriate for get61.com. The final objective was to compare the current scoring system to a standard Elo and the modified rating systems and identify if the same players were at the top of each leaderboard. The recommendation for get61.com was to implement the modified rating system alongside rank matchmaking or tournaments.
