Determining Key Variables of Iowa Traffic Accidents

Through analysis of Iowa traffic accident data, the goal of the project is to determine which variables, road surface type, time of day, etc., are key indicators of accidents occurring and build a prediction model using them. 

The objectives of this project are: 

• Identify which variables collected by the Iowa Department of Transportation are the best indicators of traffic accidents. 
• Build a model that the Iowa Department of Transportation can use to predict how likely traffic accidents given certain conditions. 
• Form a recommendation on how controllable variables should be adjusted to decrease accidents based on findings.
