My capstone experience at Gundersen Health was unique in its focus on developing audit workflows for training of documentation integrity audits. This workflow optimization aimed to provide a tool to support the training of documentation integrity auditing that would be detailed and allow the training to be self-guided. The project covered audit workflows including informed consent, general discharge, history and physical, brief operative and operative reports, and abbreviation use. Throughout my time at Gundersen Health, I leveraged many skills and concepts I acquired through the Health Information Management and Technology (HIMT) program and developed new skills and competencies in documentation integrity.
