Analytics is becoming increasingly prevalent in American professional sports, with teams using analytics to guide roster management, injury prevention, and play-calling. With the use of various analytics tools, this case study provides an initial evaluation of the effects analytics have had on American sports through the collection and visualization of MLB, NBA, and NFL data from the past few decades. The study also aims to start the discussion around how analytics may be affecting fan experiences of these sports, and whether the results are beneficial.
