My capstone project started with the task of reviewing the orientation checklist that was used by the health information department (HIM) and comparing it to Aurora’s Onboarding (orientation process); I was to review for redundancies in the HIM’s checklist (as Aurora’s could not be changed) and coordinate the timelines of each. Next, I worked on downsizing a 60-page competency appraisal and evaluation; through the process however the task changed to me working on updating training checklists, creating a training checklist template for future use, and creating a summary sheet of completed training for management to utilize.
