The goal of new housing deregulation reforms is to lower housing costs/inflation, thus also reducing homelessness. An objective of this case study was to investigate the relationship between housing costs and homelessness. Linear regression models were made using numerous variables and publicly available data to predict homelessness rates. Housing variables were compared to other variables like drug abuse and mental illness to better understand what the main causes of homelessness are.
