The Modeling Specialty Pharmacy Sales Volume project covers the evaluation of a major staffing problem within the Specialty Pharmacy at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin. A large dataset was evaluated to identify and quantify the relationships between various aspects of the Specialty Pharmacy realm and its sales volumes. Pharmaceutical Class, Ordering Department Specialty, Hospital visits, and other variables were examined. These variables were all compared using a series of regression analyses to evaluate only statistically significant variables and predict sales volume. The results of this analysis were used to provide insights to Specialty Pharmacy leaders and to create a set of leading indicators that the leaders can track to adjust staffing levels as needed to sustain manageable workloads and satisfied employees.
