Capstone Projects

Predictive Analytics for Pharmaceutical Marketing Optimization

Program: Data Science Master's
Host Company: Théa Pharmaceuticals
Location: Lexington, Massachusetts (remote)
Student: Eric Tomasi

For my capstone project, I worked on a client project for Thea Pharmaceuticals. The goal of my project was to develop a machine learning classification model that will predict which doctors are likely to prescribe glaucoma medications. This model will help provide Thea a target list of doctors that can be used for sales and marketing purposes. Currently, Thea uses a traditional method of ranking doctors based on their total prescription volume. However, a machine learning approach will enable Thea to factor in more variables that better reflect the nuance in a doctor’s decision-making process.
