Reducing Youth Access to Alcohol in Wisconsin Rapids through Public Policy

Program: Health and Wellness Management Master's

Driving Question: Using a health equity lens, what new policies or revisions can be made to alcohol-related ordinances and administrative policies in Wisconsin Rapids to reduce youth access to alcohol?

Project Goal: The overall goal of my project is to improve the health of the community in the Wisconsin Rapids area by preventing underage alcohol use and limiting youth exposure to alcohol.

Project Plan: Complete an inventory of local ordinances and administrative policies related to alcohol in Wisconsin Rapids to address gaps in policies, and opportunities for improvement. Meet with a city council member to discuss history of decision making regarding the local ordinances. Develop a report with policy recommendations.
