Refining Employee Policies and Hiring Strategies

My capstone project focused on addressing workforce instability and compliance gaps at Circle of Hope, Inc. II, a community-based residential facility for women with disabilities. The primary objective was to improve employee retention and legal alignment by refining the organization’s employee policies and hiring strategies. Key deliverables included a fully revised employee handbook, onboarding checklists, performance evaluation tools, and a cost analysis of recruitment practices. The project also involved identifying unlawful handbook language, such as wage discussion restrictions, and making corrections to ensure compliance with Wisconsin and federal labor standards.
This capstone project sharpened my ability to lead internal reform in a real-world healthcare setting. It deepened my understanding of compliance leadership and workforce development, and showed me the power of structured, policy-driven change. It also reinforced my long-term commitment to creating healthier work environments for underrepresented populations through leadership, policy, and systems improvement.
This capstone affirmed that I thrive at the intersection of operational strategy, compliance, and human impact. It also gave me the confidence to pursue policy-driven leadership roles in healthcare administration, especially in areas where advocacy, systems thinking, and organizational development overlap.
