This project aimed to provide an understanding of how social media is changing how we consume news and to gain an understanding of how people view the news that is shown on social media. There are complexities that make social media as a news source challenging, but there are also benefits that can be provided from traditional media. This project analyzed the characteristics that are most important when determining if a social media user will view the news as accurate or inaccurate. A prediction classification model was also created that can be used by social media companies and news organizations to help better understand their audience and create news content that is viewed as accurate.
