The TEFCA project objective was to develop questions to submit to the QHINs to assist UW Health with deciding which QHIN they would like to work with, and which one would be the best choice and match for their needs. For the TEFCA project, I researched and got familiar with what TEFCA is. I was also assigned the task of acquiring contact information for the QHINs that UW Health is considering. I was then assigned to develop questions for the category of Governance SOPs to add to the submissions to the QHINs. Assist with anything else that the team needs. The Process Improvement Project was a project to help gather employee ideas, thoughts, and questions and be able to monitor them and react to them while making them accessible to all employees. I was assigned to come up with three different ideas on how to do this.
The capstone project provided me with the opportunity to work with a wonderful team that was extremely supportive and encouraging. This process provided an invaluable experience that I will take with me no matter where I end up. I applied the knowledge I learned during my HIMT courses and gained new knowledge from the UW Health team I worked with. I was nervous about doing my Capstone project but after getting into it with the team and seeing how supportive they were the nervousness subsided. All I can say is that if I can do it anyone can do it and remember that we all must start somewhere to reach our goals in life.
