Program: Applied Biotechnology Master's Degree — Business Management

International biotech companies have challenges in communicating cross-culturally at times, which can impede progress in projects and other workflows. Kaizen events provide an avenue to focus on one sole project while giving a space for associates to discuss their cultural differences and background. Kaizen events at our chosen biotech company fostered a slight positive sentiment regarding collaboration while meeting the set standards. Not all the Kaizen events achieved their goal, but the significant reduction in variance, a key metric to assess effectiveness, indicates success. The results and discussion points provide room for improvement and future research to understand the benefits and drawbacks of international Kaizen events.
