Value of Water: Wausau, WI

My project focused on investigating and analyzing publicly available data about PFAS contamination. The project discusses the history of corporate contamination that has occurred since the 1980s in Wausau and how that has impacted the water treatment process since then. This history of contamination brings to light the environmental and health issues that the industries have produced and the legal battles between Wausau and corporations due to alleged PFAS pollution due to business operations.

I researched and reviewed the various types of PFAS that have impacted Wausau and their effects on human and environmental health. Part of this research included corporations that are alleged of causing pollution, when and where the pollution was prominent, the past and current state and federal standards for PFAS in drinking water, and how Wausau is currently handling PFAS in drinking water.
