UW Health Coding and CDI Integration

UW Health is working on integrating the Medical Foundation (clinics) with the main hospital. I was put in charge of deploying new methods of keeping track of production, creating and delivering education material to the staffs changing roles, and aiding in supervisor/management sub councils that participated in various ways to help the integration process go as smoothly as possible. I was given the opportunity to take various levels of leadership roles in my projects over this capstone. I was put in charge of seeing if the AHIMA Apprenticeship program was a right fit for the coding and CDI department. I reached out to the AHIMA Apprenticeship program manager and scheduled a conference call bringing together supervisors, managers, and educators from the Coding and CDI department and team leads from AHIMA. The Coding and CDI department was looking into the aspect of educating their current staff to have them better education for a credential.
