Weather Engine: Targeted Product Promotions based on Local Weather History, Weather Forecasts, and Historical Point of Sale Data

My capstone project is a business development plan for a start-up company called Weather Engine. This business plan describes the idea for a service-based company that works with business clients who have retail stores and/or online customer sales data to prescribe product promotions based on weather forecasts through a customized model. At a high-level Weather Engine will gather past weather history on all the store locations of our clients and combine that with their store level point of sale data. This data will then be analyzed to find weather events that correlate to higher product sales which will be turned into a client model that will be used to predict when a product promotion should be triggered based on weather forecast data that is fed into the model. The goal of all this being to boost product sales based on these targeted promotions.
